From time to time we organise various activities with the aim of developing and strengthening our sense of spiritual community. There's a rich mixture of festivals and celebrations, practice days, study days, sangha walks, family days and more ...
In the Buddhist calendar, for example 'Wesak' which falls on the full moon day of May, and is traditionally the day when Buddhists celebrate the day the Buddha was born, attained Enlightenment and passed away.
We offer Days of Practice/Study which are facilitated by experienced members of the group. These days normally include periods of sitting and walking meditation and noble silence is observed.
Sangha Walks or 'yatra' generally means a pilgrimage but can also be a mindful walk. Part of this is usually in silence but it is also a time to connect with one another and develop our sense of spiritual friendship. Bring food for a shared picnic lunch!
We hope to include in our calendar of events family sangha days, which may include meditation and games for children, and/or a short walk in the countryside and a picnic.
